The Menghe tribe on the Alxa grasslands brought back a group of orphaned children fleeing from the south after receiving them from the main city. The tribe, which had only just achieved basic subsistence, was both excited and somewhat troubled. These little ones were thin and frail, looking as if a gust of wind could blow them away. They couldn’t ride horses or hunt sheep, especially the darkest-skinned one, who coughed every few steps and might as well have had "I’m sick" written all over his face.
