The main story is complete Zerg double-powerhouse + 1v1 sweet fluff + plot-driven satisfying read + mysticism, a romantic comedy between two Zerg with a HE (leans slightly toward ensemble cast) ————— Having unexpectedly attained immortality, the Grand State Preceptor who had lived for nearly a thousand years was finally struck dead by lightning—struck straight into a Zerg novel, and matched with a female lord. This has to be one of my fav new novels. I don't often read Zerg novels, but I have to say this one is one of the best imo. Maybe it's because the side characters are also very developed? As the author mentions, although there is a main protagonist, the story actually leans more towards multiple protagonist novels. We get to understand a lot of the characters, their backstories, motives and personalities. They are all pretty unique. If I think about it I think the ML is ultimately the most at a glance normal person from the whole cast (and some others but we gotta agree that they r not as important), but that's kinda surface level because their is definitely a reason as to why he can become the MC's literal beacon and leash. This novel is really focused on the political aspects, but it's still rather enjoyable, maybe because the MC was kinda overpowered since the start (it's understandable though, dude is like 300 yrs old and has extensive experience in court). The other characters also mention it often like bruh we haven't done anything yet but everything has already escalated till the end. I think the novel is rather realistic in some aspects, i.e. a businessman would not be kind (could be described as having no morals) even if they are apart of the protagonist group, or their stance on the current societal hierarchy. Although I really hate inequality it's my trigger atp, I have to agree that it is impossible to change the base of society so easily, especially in the case of zerg worlds where there really is a shortage of male zergs and without them they would go extinct. The MCs focus isn't to really change the current society, but rather set a foundation that future people can build upon. I like the way the author treated the zerg world, although people in the lower classes might really believe male zergs are like gods, in the higher classes especially near the royalty the actual people that have power are the female bugs because why would female zergs that have the power and brains actually let the male zergs walk all over them . The novel also shows many smart and powerful male zergs after all there must be a reason as to why they r the heads of their families. There are multiple side couples and a forever single straight transmigrator who will probably never see women again: (Multiple people transmigrate!). The extras r also enjoyable. I really liked the MCs unstable mental state, that sounds weird, but it was kinda funny how when he crashes out everyone around him gets a little worried (not for him or themselves, but rather for his enemies). I really enjoy novels where relationships are built between not just the MC and ML, but also the side characters around them, it feels quite heart warming at times. Overall, really recommend, I think this is a really bad first novel for the zerg setting because now I can't enjoy any other zerg novels without thinking about it.
