The Astrologer, The Guardian, and the Two Towers

At some point, the astrologer Io could only foretell “major calamities” and “unlucky events”. Ever since he foretold the death an influential person, the rumors about him spiraled out of control and he was confined to a tower as an “astrologer who invites disaster”. His guard switches out periodically, and several months ago Regulus came to the tower, a meddlesome busy-body. He makes Io eat regularly, and makes him follow all sorts of rules.
