The story follows Miss Huo Ling Long, the eldest daughter of Ling Long Manor, who flees her arranged marriage and leaves home. At a mountain inn, she encounters a mysterious black-clad man, Zhan Zhao, who possesses extraordinary martial arts skills but is gravely injured.
