Do you know the expression "taking the hit for the rank"? Yes. If there is someone who wields their seniority to push others around, there must be someone who takes the brunt of it. That person was me. 21st-century South Korea, a world overrun by things called "strange creatures" or "monsters." I work as the youngest researcher at a laboratory that studies and manages these monsters. If there is one silver lining, it is that the monsters—who are essentially my colleagues—take a liking to me.
