A young woman was hurled down the stairs and died a long time ago. But in the east garden of the royal palace, in a four-room structure known as Akatsuki-tei, her body was hung. When her spirit was unable to leave the house, rumours that the young woman’s ghost would haunt the Akatsuki-tei started to circulate. The young woman who turned into a ghost recounts the tale.
