I’m a Hero, but I’ve Given Up on Saving the World

My friend and I were transported into a game. Of all things, my friend was chosen as the hero, and I became a nobody. “Why are you wasting food here? Just go back to Earth.” “What’s your value for existing?” “Aren’t you ashamed to be alive?” “How are you any help to us?” The bullying and contempt started under my friend’s leadership. I just ignored it. They could go on their adventures or not; I just wanted to go home. But then, the hero died during an expedition. The same people who ignored me yesterday are now begging me to become the new hero. Why should I? I’m just going to go home.
