Haru opened his eyes on a library shelf and heard a student say his spell notes were too useful to ignore. Then he realized he was the book. Every person who read him could faintly hear his voice, and that was his only way to reach the world. He started small, helping class stragglers pass tests and guiding lost souls into useful work among the living. The dead answered him, too, and not as monsters.
