Longtu Pavilion was built during the Northern Song Dynasty and housed various books, paintings, classics, and archives—somewhat similar to today’s libraries. The most famous “curator” of Longtu Pavilion was Bao Zheng, who served as the Longtu Pavilion Scholar and Prefect of Kaifeng during the reign of Emperor Renzong. This story is fictional (obviously!) and follows the Shu-Mao family as they solve ancient unsolved cases preserved in the archives of Longtu Pavilion, as well as unresolved mysteries sent in from various prefectures and counties.
