There’s a certain kind of person in this world—one whose mind has been kissed by the gods, able to divine the heavens with near-perfect accuracy. But aside from that, they have just one other talent: attracting unclean things. Xun Ruosu runs a small stall in the old street, offering only three divinations a day. She predicts fortune, not misfortune; joy, not sorrow. If she earns a couple of coins, she gets by. If not, she drinks the northwest wind. Her life is one of easy contentment. Until the day Xun Ruosu’s time runs out. She lies down in her coffin ahead of schedule, waiting for the heavens to claim her.
