Burned Out

Story Overview Ji Ting and Tan Yucheng were classmates for two years. She once had a crush on him, but it was as fleeting as a "night-blooming cereus" (a flower that blooms briefly and then fades). She knew a relationship was impossible because his eyes were never on her. Despite this, they remained close friends, staying in touch and meeting frequently. Ji Ting was well aware that Tan Yucheng was still hung up on his ex-girlfriend and believed that, eventually, the two of them would get back together. However, she never expected that she and Tan Yucheng would become entangled in a new, complicated relationship—one that also felt as fragile and temporary as that fleeting blossom.
