His father ran away in the night. Leaving behind a debt. Lukut Ochs, the only boy left behind, is about to be sold off to a s*aver as a form of his father’s debt. At that time, it is Meriage, a black iron merchant and a “moneylender,” who helps him out by taking over his debt. Meriage tells the boy Lukut, to become a hunter. And so it was.
