Honestly, it's a good novel, and where I read it, the translation was excellent. However, I'm of the opinion that it's a novel focused first on revenge and then on showbiz. The MC being an idol is more of a backdrop to why certain things are happening. It's a heavy story, mainly because it started with the MC's suicide and delved into his motives, and this is compounded by the fact that the MC is an unreliable narrator, which should have been evident from the beginning – with the suicide – but it isn't! Not to mention that the MC is a scoundrel; he's manipulative, and several characters, past or present, are dependent on him and he uses them, all with a hidden good intention, even if the methods are questionable.
In conclusion, I do not recommend this for people sensitive to very heavy topics.
